Bet they're sorry they did that; Lol! -- I couldn't imagine it actually.
This is where my week gets more productive, from tomorrow onwards; though I did actually apply for three jobs today; that's a record for me lately as I'd been so unmotivated. But I am constantly networking with people etc. Don't leave anything un-turned if I can help it. -- There's a woman I'm calling back tomorrow though about a position at the RCH.
I'm also going to Kooyong to cast my vote tomorrow so should be interesting, especially considering I still haven't made up my mind who I want to vote for; damn politics. Then I have the AGM of Puter group; I'm a member again but this will be my last year.

In other news, the past two days, as usual, were quite productive; except for the fact afet wasn't there Tuesday but Emilie's group as usual was good, and she's also given me hope that if I don't have a job soon, she'll be happy to spend some time with us one-on-one going through papers for work which is something the individual employment consultants apparently don't provide. -- Another guy in my woodwork class has also offered to use his contacts to try and find me something so yeah for networking as well; that's what it's all about! :)
The whole Metro system was in Chaos Tuesday as there'd been a power blackout at southerncross at about 5 AM, so that meant delays for pretty much the whole day. Took me 2.5 hours instead of one to get into VA.
Yesterday was fun, except of course for the workshop being so damn freezing. Fortunately though, I'd rugged up more so I didn't feel it so bad! -- We went over the safety stuff of last week for half the day which was more boring but definitely necessary. Then we got shown how to use the drop-saw, (I forget the proper term for it; Google came up with 'Miter saw" but that's not what he said I’m sure). Anyway, when it came to my turn, apparently I looked very natural using it, like a professional. Of course wasn't so good with my left hand but still pretty good. I think I must have freaked Brett out a little because I was doing it so fast and he thought I was quite strong. They didn't believe me when I told them in fact, I was pretty weak; Lol! -- Unlike last time I started woodwork, I wasn't nervous at all; it's all so safe. In fact, Ed (the guy I mentioned above who offered to speak to his contacts) cringed when I was feeling the blades of the saw; power was switched off of course at that time. -- But I found using it pretty good.
We also practiced using the talking tape measures, and I was very accurate with that, as well as this other thing (which I forget the name of now; *grr*) which is a steel object with a digital readout. There's a voice box that plugs into it though. This can measure even more accurate than a tape measure, but more the width and thickness of a piece of timber, as well as the perimeter of holes etc. -- it was interesting and I do wish I could remember the name of it; starts with V; I’ll find out next week for the sake of this blog.
When Ed was fully sighted, he worked in the mines. He actually was one of the guys in charge of building the city loop so I was talking to him a bit about that yesterday.
Well guess that's about all for now.
Oh, Neighbours has been exciting of late. Tuesday was the start of the fallout from steph's lies, finally! :)

Well yesterday I didn't stop; I washed clothes, I separated my meat order and put them in freezer bags (took about three quarters of an hour). went and did my big shop as well as taking myself to the doctor followed closely by racing home to pick up Heartly to take her to the vet and she got a bath. Heartly was fine, as always. But it was clear that her cataracts are getting worse; poor darling. the vet said that the hearing tends to also Deteriorate .
i've got a busy week next week. Meeting Ang Monday (didn't end up doing it thurs as it was stormy). Then VA Tues and Wednesday, then starting up mobility Thursday at forest Hill. Donna finally got back to me so we'll do that for a while and then the route to the family doctors.
Also, apparently there's a school reunion for my class of 98 being organized. Will see where it is; I'll most likely go if it's not at a pub; pubs are too noisy and alcoholy for me. I can't imagine it would be there though.
Also Dad is coming over to help me with my talking scales. I bought the battery for it yesterday but I'm not sure how to take the old one out; it's one of those nine vult ones attached to a wire that I don't know how to get off. It's not corroded, yeah!
I chopped some vegies up last night and today I cook; yeah! Looks like I’ll have working scales too which will be even better as I can follow the recipe exactly.
Life is not too bad right now though my little hands are like ice blocks as per usual for winter.

I forgot to mention in my previous entry how absolutely freezing it's been lately; maybe it's just me, but I am sure I don't remember it being this cold other years, and winter has just started; who knows what we're in for later on.
We've had a lot of rain this week; I'm starting to wonder if we're out of the long drout that Aus has been affected with for so so long. -- but i say, it makes waiting in the cold for public transport extremely painful, especially when the trains are so infrequent these days, (go metro; worse than connex).

Met Kaz for lunch at the pancake parlour today; it was great; my usual chicken pancake and a hot chocolate and Kaz's sweet pancake with hot chocolate over great chatter and laughter made for an awesome time! Then she kindly dropped me off here.
It was freezing this morning.
Oh, an overheard which will be cross-posted momentarily to [livejournal.com profile] overheardinmelb:
On the Pakenham train when I had literally just got on at Clayton station: rough-sounding guy (obviously speaking on his mobile): Ah, can I make an appointment for 3o'clock to have "mum" written on my arm? Lol! I couldn't believe it; the bestest way to come out and ask for a tattoo

Kaz came over today; we had cheesy goodness and a couple of cuppas.
Joy went to the vet before this and had her anual vaccinations; she's also got a bit of dermatitus which is OK for now, but if it gets worse, I'm to take her back. she also got a bath.

In other news, today is the day I roast my first chicken all by myself! -- I felt so confident after we all cooked it at Mon's, that I'd been dying to give it a go myself; so the girls are coming around, as well as Kaz's son. -- this will be good.
I will be going shopping soon to buy a lemon (to stick up it's bum throughout the cooking process so it doesn't dry out; it also adds extra yummy flavour along with the cation spice which we sprinkled all over the breast at Mon's, so will do it here as well; mmmm -- so so nice! -- So the girls will be here early to be on call in case I need any assistance on this my first attempt.
I went to my butcher yesterday and bought a medium chook. Then Joy and I walked up to Pumpkins for some French toast (for me anyway, not her! ;) -- then Kaz and troy came over and we went and had a lovely cheese platter at Enricks before coming back here for a cuppa.
This week is semi-occupied. having dinner and staying over at Mon's tonight, Got to go to Kensington Tues and Wed, and vet thurs.
Amy G from the u.K (who I was going to stay with in Wales last year) is coming here from the 7th til the 17th; she's staying with james B from when she arrives Thursday til the 7th. I actually didn't realize she'd be here so soon which is why I didn't document it in my LJ before now.
Well, time for me to read the friends page before I get stuck into my day.

I was thinking of going down to rye this weekend, but parents understandably decided they wanted a weekend to themselves; I do understand that since Dad's been away for so long. Yesterday, Mum had said I could go down there, but I'd said I had plans; now I don't; ah well; will give me a chance to get more job applications off. I decided to get really strict with myself and do the minimum of two a day.

Getting started!
It was dated 27th July 2003; kinda proud of that; so many years ago!
I only came across this writers block entry as I've been reading some old entries of mine (as I occasionally do) and looking at profiles of old LJ friends; it's so interesting finding out most of them are still using this thing. -- I've had so many LJ friends come and go over the years; so many have stuck around as well! :)

And that is all really. tomorrow at computer club, I am doing a presentation on twitter and McTwit. Should be interesting.
Also tomorrow, I have to do another online course for work. This one takes a while but I should be right.
And that is all for now I think.

Well now, I am not going to cut my writers block entry for today, because this was a subject I was going to prattle on about in here anyway.
Since I last wrote in here I've been hearing news about this flu starting out in Mexico and there being suspecting cases and deaths beyond, in America; which causes panick.
I am starting to panick, especially when I know that people are coming and going from this country every day, not to mention I heard we have over 90 suspected cases; 24 being from Victoria.
Sure, we're not exactly as prone to it, because we're a country to ourselves, but people will still insist on travelling.
If i had of known about this flu outbreak while I was stuffed-up with the cold in the U.K, I may have been really scared!
I guess I needn't worry though unless there's a proven outbreak around here, then I will simply stay put in here for a good long while, and have a mask for when I absolutely need to go out.
In other news, I haven't been very well at all this week. From about Monday or tuesday i have had absolutely no energy, and everything i did, every which-way I moved made me tired. I did go to work anyway though.
I thought eventually, maybe it was some kind of reaction from my Iron infusion, but I called up one of the nurses yesterday, and she said that if at all, people will only experience things 24 to 48 hours afterwoods.
Yesterday I felt quite sick at work, and it resulted in my upchucking (lovely, i know!) but the boys were good to me and fortunately, understanding. I did feel better after that little outburst though, but I caught a cab home, just in case.
Nan came over yesterday, and in her usual fashon when she comes over, she'll have a lovely tea cooked for me, but I didn't really have that; I did have some toast, and was in bed listening to Neighbours. I've got the extra tea in the fridge though, so that's good!
I feel fine now though!
Got a docs appointment Monday.
I will be going to Lilydale hospital on the 25th for a Gastroscopy and a colonoscopy requested by me specialist to make sure I'm all OK there, and here! Lol -- Not looking forward to the bowel cleaner the night before.
Til next time, RdFreak
P.S. I feel most of this entry was about sicky stuff; wow! I guess it's too late to warn my readers not to read if you're eating! Lol
P.P.S. I am going to try some more ANZACs tomorrow I think. Oh, I gave one to my boss yesterday; how nice of me! :)

Before I ramble on with my week of last, I will answer this simple writer's block question:
[Error: unknown template qotd]

This week has been rather busy compared to my usual standards!
Tuesday night was the Computer Users group, where rB and I again, did a wonderful job (if I may say so my humble self :) of setting all the audio stuff up, as well as maintaining the Ventrilo connection. -- twas a good night!
Wednesday I went into the city and met RB, where we discussed our lives some more. We were both upset again, by the end.
Thursday I of course went to work, then met up with J, K and Q, and we all went to Gail and garry's place for dinner to see Bill! man it was a good night, and so good to see them all, including bill of course, as it'd been nine years since he was here last! -- He even gave me a musical birthday card and a gift, which i certainly wasn't expecting; just goes to show what a wonderful friend he is, even though I'm terrible with keeping in contact much of the time!
Yesterday Mum took me into Boxhill hospital at 9 for my iron infusion. -- i was nervous but knew I shouldn't be.
Once the drip was hanging out of me, Mum left, and I stayed there til 4.30, amusing myself by listening to neighbours eppisodes thanks to my external drive, and laptop.
Oh, was talking to this lovely young guy in the morning who visits frequently for vitamin infusions for his Chromes disease. I enjoyed having his company in the morning before he was done, and left.
Nan had come over Thursday night as she offered to stay here with heartly.
She left last night after her, Mum and I had some Mackers for tea.
For the first hour of my infusion yesterday, my blood pressure was checked every fifteen minutes, and then it was every half hour. -- in some cases, blood pressure can lower and the pulse-rate can get too quick. But all throughout, mine was fine, and I was feeling fine, as some people can suffer from nausea.
I went to singing this morning for the first time in six weeks; was great to see her and get back into it. She was apologetic for not making my party but she wasn't very well that day.
Anyway, still don't feel like iron woman, but was told it can take up to a week for any noticeable differences.
And that's about all.
Prue's got her house warming tonight, and i may yet decide to go for a few hours, but it depends on how i feel at the time; they said to drop in whenever which is a good plan!
Think that's about all for now!
Til next time, RdFreak
P.S. Wishing my felo Aussies and kiwi's a reflective ANZAC day today!

Neil's daughter was here for the weekend, so there was certainly extra noise about the place. We went to Danielle's Mum's Sat night, where her sister cooked lovely Chinese for us!
Yesterday we dropped N's daughter home, and was then met by [livejournal.com profile] internet_king, their friend Katie (who I hadn't met but heard a lot about) and her b/f, and we went to an Italian restaurant not far away. Was very good food and conversation.
Today the plan was to go to Thorntons (chocolate chain in U.K) but that will probably largely depend on how Danielle is. We'd been meaning to get there for a few days now. I asured her it didn't matter as I'd go in Cornwall.
Going to call my relos tonight and see if they'd mind doing some stuff in London tomorrow before heading back to Cornwall, or if not, doing it on the way back as I leave from Heathro on the 1st.
So yeh, the past few days has been fun.

In other news, I couldn't be happier with my trip now. -- I will now be staying in London for the ten days that I was going to stay with Lou in Ireland. This kills two birds with one stone. Dan, (who I hadn't spoken to for ages due to a falling out, but recently got back in touch through facebook) asked if we could possibly catch up. Then I find out that both Cornwall relos have plans during that week and a half. Christine is actually going with her son to stay with dad over in Dubai, while Jack will be visitting his family for long weekend.
So, not only am I catching up with dan, but she's letting me stay with her for the ten days, no problem at all! in fact, the night I get there, I'll be dogsitting for her, so it works out super!
I wanted to spend an extended time in London again anyway. maybe I can finally do some tours I always wanted to do. -- I might do some researching on stuff I can go do on my own while i'm there! yeahness!
OK so me little crisis is over and, I couldn't be happier with me holiday plans now! I get my passport tomorrow, I will get to experience a week in Dubai, I still will get a hint of ireland as I'm still staying there for one night and I'm catching up with a long-lost friend! and, I'll prob still get to see Lou in England! yeah as well as being promised an eventful stay in cornwall thanks to C and J! -- all's well that ends well!
I got an SMS from the Victorian police yesterday; .. don't worry; everyone got one! Lol! alerting us to severe bushfire danger. It's forecast 32 today and winds reaching up to 180 K an hour. in fact, I am starting to hear a little wind outside now as I write.
Off to iron sspecialist today then home to pack! oh, might see bout me iriver as well while i'm out.

Well, stress stress! This morning, Mum and I were stressed as filling in passport application forms, I was calling optus to get roaming on me phone, etc, etc. Went off to get photos taken, Ang and T met us in there. I handed me form in and .. relief .. was told it'd be ready by 1 or a bit after on Wednesday! yeah!
Then, I find out that Lou had SMS'ed me to say there was a crisis there. -- Mum and I went to Lygon street for lunch. She dropped me home, read Lou's email. due to an emergency situation (I'm not going into on public entry), I won't be able to go there! -- this freakin holiday's plans are not going well. -- I will just have to stay in cornwall for a bit longer, and Lou said she'd still catch up with me in england; so that should be alright.
But not happy about all the plan changes I've had to deal with, *grrrr*
still going to dublin for a night though as I'm staying at the airport hotel, then I'll hopefully be back to Cornwall. *sigh*
