rdfreak | I wish I can drive!

Lol I miss my Blind kiss. that show was sooo funny! anyway as subject line kinda reflects my mood right now. I followed all the instructions and patched the downloaded latest iriver firmwear and patched it to the rockbox to make a boot thing (don't understand really. I just follow instructions :) which is all good and nice and dandy and stuff then it told me to plug it into my USB, yes, fine did that. turn it on. I did it! and I heard the hard disc wirl up and I saw the drive appear in my computer, and then the instructions told me to copy or move the patched file but I decided I wouldn't do that cos then it said that I needed to then go to the main menu of my iriver and patch it which I can not do without working eyes! *grrrrrr I totally didn't think the sighty thing applied any more. I obviously had skipped over that when I read it before! *grrr so it sucks! I need a sighty; it's not fair *grrrr! guess I could see if dad can come over. but it just sucks and stuff! or maybe as jmosen did in his review, you do everything but that step so you cann't actually use it but when a sightie comes you can then just tell them to patch it! yeah he did that; I'd forgotten about that. and then I couldn't remember how to turn it off! but then I think I found it. was pressing a few buttons and stuff. and then I disconnected it from USB and the rockbox site said I should make sure I do it safely through remove hardwear wizzard or something, but I didn't know what it actually referred too. However, something odd did happen when I connected this. my puter went into standby or something and i had to end up rebooting weird. and then this softwear that I installed from the CD comes up each time I reboot now and says "found new hardwear" but I didn't really get that either cos when I installed that, it wasn't hardwear! so weird! anyway I since heard that that's more of a visual program anyway and ya don't need it. So I probably don't need it really.
ah well yep I'll do that. I'll reconnect and hopefully my puter won't go all weird again. and I'll install everything except the obvious patching the firmwear. I'll have to do a jmosen and wait til I find some working eyes! *grrr well Heartly's eye are working but she doesn't understand technical stuff. *grr

p.S.maybe I can go and see if I can direct a neighbour to do it. I mean it gives the directions on the site but am not sure if either of them would freak since it's like a computer. Either that or I can go to parents tomorrow but it's gunna be hot! maybe I can see where ang is as she's always going out. maybe she could call in here or something. ah well I'll work on it.
going to install everything else now!
