Where were you...
1. When John F. Kennedy was shot? (11/22/1963)
Not-existing. Mum was 11 and Dad was 10. I was probably only thought about in little bits and pieces (if that makes any sense at all :)
2. When Mt. St. Helens blew? (5/18/1980)
Um, don't know what that referrs to, but I was 1 year, one month and two days, waiting for my sister to make her appearance in the world five months later.
3. When the space shuttle Challenger exploded? (1/28/1986)
I was 7 .. probably begging for more bateries for my new christmas toys!
4. When the 7.1 earthquake hit San Francisco? (10/7/1989)
I was ten and was just about to complete my first year at my local school (as oppose to the blindy school)
5. When the Berlin Wall fell? (11/7/1989)
Same deal as above.
6. When the Gulf War began? (1/16/1991)
I was 12 and just about to be in grade 5. I believe my family and friends were all at Romsey. I do remember hearing radio reports!
7. When the first World Trade Center bombing happened? (2/26/1993)
I actually didn't know it had happened before. i was 14 and had just started year 7 at >Vermont Secondary.
8. When OJ Simpson was chased in his White Bronco? (6/17/1994)
I was 15 and on my mid-semester break of year 8. Remember that stuff from the news.
9. When the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City was bombed? (4/19/1995)
Never heard of this either. It was three days after my 16th birthday. I believe I'd just got back from New Vision camp at Helkra on my year 9 easter break.
10. When Princess Di was killed? (8/31/1997)
I was in year 11 and was 18. Was actually just about to start my Human development work. I had sat on my bed and was just about to open my laptop when I heard A run down stairs and announce to Nan and Mum that the princess died. (it affected me for weeks after!)
11. When Bush was first announced President? (11/7/2000)
I was 21 and was finishing up my years of volunteering at RVIB 201. Was trying to sort out a lot of crap in my mind with NB.
12. When the 6.8 earthquake hit Nisqually, WA? (2/28/2001)
I had just started my second rendition of my VCE at The CAE.
13. When terrorists destroyed the World Trade Center? (9/11/2001)
I had turned on the radio to listen to some talkback as i couldn't sleep and heard all about it - and same went for the next year or so - non-stop! - I was 22.
14. When Columbia disintegrated during re-entry over Texas? (2/1/2003)
I was to turn 24 in two months time. I remember being at my nans and hearing of this project on the radio. I thought it was sooo cool as spiders from glenwaverly were a part of an experiment that some "lucky" students were taking part in. I had just started doing my sixth and final VCE subject at CAE. i was soooo upset and especially cos I started recieving forwards/jokes about it not long after it all happened - always the way!
15. When the War on Iraq started? (3/15/03)
Um, in bed, listening to 3AW and thinking "man what is happening to world peace?? One of the presenters Neil Mitchell was talking to this citizen of Irac during his morning program. It was kinda powerful!
