wy too early?
Well by normal ausie standards, it would appear much too early to be up on a sunday morning; but I can't sleep and figure I may as well be up with the heater cranked! it's sooo freezing in the mornings! *brrr! I was going to go for a walk with my newly renovated Iriver but two problems: (I keep forgetting how to do these fancy bullet lists in HTML so):
A. My iriver's batteries seemed flat, and
B. the stereo mic I currently have doesn't appear to fit in line-in which shocked me somewhat. (btw forgot to mention, I found the mic so I obviously didn't lose it in U.K as I previously thought.)
so that sucks, there doesn't seem to be any other holes for line-in so am presuming it's just megga small! *grrr. so will have to watch that when I purchase my church audio mics (that I still plan too).
oh yes and why "nearly renovated iriver"? well, yesterday we (that was a combine effort between M and myself) downloaded and installed the latest daily build of Rockbox. so now I went from February to yesterday and I have eloquence which I prefer. so now I can record, as with the previous version of rockbox I had, it didn't allow one to record over a minute, nor record the FM radio. And even the built in mic is great! .. I willn post a recording later. But yeah! I won't know myself when I get those new stereo mics.
Well yesterday M did come over and we did the bakery thing. we caught a cab then to J's session and she was great as always! I hadn't heard her for a while so thought it should be about time I get an update! :) Everyone enjoyed her performance and she appreciated us all coming so it was all good! It was also nice to catch up with others I don't see often. K's new SEDA dog seemed to take to Heartly straight away (or the other way around). Heartly can be kindda nit picky when it comes to other doggies.
Then Mat and i got a lift back from F and C which was nice. we came back here where we installed rockbox and were fiddling around with things there. we copied a lot of stuff from each other. he's coming back today as it never got finished before his iriver went flat! then my power supply wouldn't fit in his.
anyway that's me weekend so far!

anyway, no you don't need sighted assistence for upgrading. that was only when ya had to update the firmweare in the beginning but you don't have to do that again. all you have to do is, go to the site, download whichever later version you want, unzip it into your iriver folder (having connected it obviously :) oh and you should delete the old rockbox before this unless you have some settings you want to keep (then it should just overide) and, if you want a different voice, download the voice file, put it in the lang directory of rockbox and you're good to go. it will just work.
and, re the recording thing, I probably had an earlier one than you did.
