Well later on, i am off to rickybuchanan's place to catch up and invade on her "craft and chat" day. I needed a bit of a refresher description on how to get there from the station as it's been so long, but it came back once she reminded me! -- there's quite a few good CAFEs around there so I thought I'd grab some lunch at one of them before hand.
There was another purpose for updating but I really can't recall it now.
I can say now though that I have eaten an ant, and I don't feel any better or worse off fortunately. -- It was Kaz who pointed out the little buggers to me Saturday, not a heap of them, but a few having a feild day in the sugar bowl Nan had agreed to lend me (as I thought it'd be easier than scooping it out the jar each time; needless to say, I've now decided I will go back to the jar). But the thing is, I had already had one cup of tea before she noticed them, woops; gross.
Anyway what's up with that? thought they only came out in summer? -- Well the remainder of that sugar ended up in the backyard, and the few loose ants that were running around my sink got drowneded they's did; no more ants; get away! *sigh*

Craft and chat sounds like a lovely way to spend the day. Much better than my day spent wrangling over tired children actually! Hopefully I'll get some crochet time in once they're all in bed.
And I did laugh about the ants, sorry! Still, at least you're no worse off, I guess as far as insects you could accidently eat they're pretty harmless. I know Soren has eaten ants because he has a bad habit of leaving half eaten food sitting somewhere, and then finding it later and deciding to finish it off.

hey rachel! sorry about the ants, how annoying. yes, ants do appear a lot in summer but you usually get them inside more in winter as they're trying to escape from the cold and damp.
