Well, last night, it was ironic how everything worked out. At the time you wonder how you could be so stupid!
OK well last night was the social function for YBCV, so, I left at the same time as I stated in here yesterday, but as a matter of friggen fact, i had no need to leave til 5.50, not 4.50 as I ended up doing.
So I'm walking down Mainstreet and finally I am thinking "you idiot Rachel; you didn't need to leave for another hour yet. You will be way early." then "should I just wait at Blackie station til about 6.15 (about another hour at that stage) or should I go into flinders and just wait there?"
so I ended up thinking i'd decide when I got there.
Anyway i got to the station. was just about to walk down the ramp into the subway when I heard this woman say "no trains" and I kinda wasn't sure if she was talking to me. But I stopped and sure enough, people were all around me talking about busses going to Boxhill. so I'm thinking "oh great; this will be so much fun; never done this on my own before."
anyway i asked this guy where the busses were leaving from and he goes "over there" before realizing i was blind and couldn't see if he was in fact pointing Lol!
so yeah he took me over and the bus driver got out and helped me on. i had to stand though. The drive was rather painful. There was this freaky guy who got on at Laburnum who was kinda a bit, well .. not-quite-with-it. was swearing a lot at nothing inparticular and was talking aggressively to God knows who! so that was kinda scarey. The driver was saying "sorry, you can't come on here if you'll be swearing like that." but he came on.
Yeah it turned out that there had been a fatility at Laburnum. don't know if it was a suicide or not but apparently it was "rather messy".
Anyway thankfully someone took me to the station once at Boxhill cos I didn't have a clue where it was from those bus bays.
So yeah eventually got on the train, but man if I had left it til 5.50 I would have not made it into the city by 6.45. As it happened I was half an hour early so just waited on the seats of the platform.
Anyway at about 6.45 I made my way up to the concourse where I'd said we'd meet.
Anyway C and M actually had forgotten about it. I called them and they were still at home. So yeah that was dodge and M and I were waiting for them.
so anyway we just made our way down to meet a and M then we went to the restaurant. Had some lovely Thai food. Had a good time - just the four of us.
Then afterwoods I decided to go back to my nanna's as I was closer. She picked me up from Glenroy.
This morning we went to church. It's not her or my church; it's Church of England, but it's one that is close to her and she'd been going for a while. There's only about twelve people that go there. It is sooo small!
Yeah so they made me feel welcome.
They don't even have an organ! So if, I actually get good with my braille music (Lol) I could get the stuff brailled. maybe learn some and play my keyboard there. That'd be kind of an interesting goal!
They were all praying for me and greatful I was there, etc.
Anyway after that nan came with me out here just for a run. she left before. And there was something else I had wanted to mention before but it has slipped my mind for now. Oh well will think of it I guess.
Til next time, RdFreak
