so I've run into another problem and that is I can't participate in the web chat for my online class because it is java based! *grrrrr that is a requirement, to attend eight classes at minimum! it sucks! I have had a few solutions that were either suggested to me and/or I thought of as well.
1. I could go in there with the teacher and sit with her. Only thing course, she will have to read me everything which will kinda be difficult as the chat will go fast.
2. I could have another sighty help me out (but each Monday? for a class I chose to do? nope) or my old volunteer reader? but nah!
3. I could see if the teacher or whoever can log the chat and send it to me. But then of course I won't be able to participate myself and that won't look too good I'd say. but then I could email the group any responses I have, or before hand I could email the group with any questions I have and they could discuss it as a group! *grrr
stupid jaws! I'd emailed the blindy lists and someone suggested it wouldn't work but then I just tried it myself. and even though it's still holidays so no-one to try the chat with, I can tell it's not gunna work! so that confirms it for me! And to add to matters, I tried emailing help at TAFEfc (the TAFE vertual campus) and they just said that I wasn't enrolled for the site! (yeah right) so I emailed them again and said yes I was. but I had tried to give a technical reason why jaws wouldn't work with java and could the same chat possibly be accessed via IRC or MIRC but apparently that was too hard to answer so yeah! I tried!
so now I have to email my teacher again and explain it to her.
Today being Monday has certainly been kinda productive, compared to the lack of motivation I had since UK. I'm not on msn and that is how it will remain during the week days (though I'm signed on to appear off line" right now as I wanted to see if a few ppl were on and they're not so yeh). In a minute, Mum is coming to drop Heartly back here and we are going food shopping together.
At this stage, still haven't got my replacement card. I may get it today though since dad sent the receat of my pin off on Friday! (he faxed them actually).
Over Saturday and Sunday i scanned most of my class booklet, and I have done exercises A and B and yet to do C (450 to 600 words". today I will do C. but then I find they are now not due til 4th of April so that's OK though. Then I have the draft of my story which I am yet to read about in the notes. I couldn't find what we had to do. Also, the library doesn't have the book (required reading) so got to see if I can borrow one from library or get one from Readings to scan it! at least that's where one of the ppl told me they got the book! maybe I can go there with Mum soon.
anyway this morning I spent heaps of time on the go volunteers site applying for interesting-sounding positions and inquiring after some others. I uploaded my latest resume to them mostly too. After a while I decided to not specify I was blind but they'd find details in my resume. volunteering would get me out and move me on to a career either directly (through their interest) or indirectly through being able to put all these new places on my resume since it's been a while since I did my volunteering now! silly years; ticking on by! Lol so yeah spent all morning on that. and spent time on phone with library and other places!
so that's the latest for now!
