Well I just got back from Rye not long ago, and am slightly sunburnt on my legs and face. Well apparently my face is just slightly pink but my legs are red where I had them exposed to the apparent ultraviolet rays before at the beach. It was fantastic though!
Yesterday I met Nan at Chatham station and we tried to find the hostel again (where I'll be volunteering). After a while we found it but it was difficult as I hadn't been there in a while. So now I have my memory refreshed I should be right. Then dad had called ans suggested we go down to Rye on public transport as he was already down there, so we did. (I had wanted to learn my way down there anyway, and it seems quite straight forward, but long.) took us three and a half hours to get there - train to frankston then the Portsey bus ride which took a little longer than the train ride. anyway, I know how to get there now!
Aunt J and P were down there as well so we all met up in sarrento at Larpocheta's for tea; after which we walked to another restaurant for desserts/coffees. Then we went back, watched TV for a while, played with Heartly and I went to bed.
This morning we went to an opshop in GlareGarry so Nan could get some more knitting wool, then we went to Portsey and went to the London Bridge surf beach. I just loooove listening to the violent waves. Of course walking in it can be shocking as I'm walking in trying to get to the waters edge but all of a sudden, without warning, a huuuge wave will come up and attempt to knock me flyin! I jokingly screamed at dad a few times for not warning me, and we struggled as I tried to push him in! Much fun was had, not to mention Heartly! She had the time of her life! She was running around, trying to get in the water. She's such a good girl though. we don't even have her leash on and she just follows me everywhere.
anyway it was so funny speaking of her; After a while we all sat on the clean sand and were digging holes and comparing each other's work, then dam Heartly would come and ruin our work! *grrr .. Then Dad started to put sand on Heartly and noted that it was good to get the loose hair off as she shook. so Dad then started to bury her in the sand. she was just laying there while we started participating in making our dog castle! She was covered from neck to tail - sky high with sand and she was lovin it! Only her little black head could be seen. But she'd occasionally make cracks in our masterpeace by her constant breathing, Lol!
anyway she stayed there for a while, got out, ran around a bit more and came back for another sand bath.
After a while we headed back in the car to Rye where Nan and I got dropped off at the beach, while dad and Heartly drove home and then walked back. Then we walked along the bay beach into town where we got lunch. I was walking along the waters edge (I had bought some shorts from the opshop cos I didn't ahve any and thought it'd be more practical.) We walked over the boat ramps, went under the peer towards the main township where we bought pies and chips.
then we walked back along the beach; me on the waters edge, even daring to go out a little way (though I definitely should have brought my togs. still water was freezing!)
Heartly kept trying to drink the water; thinking it was fresh but she soon learnt about that.
so we walked back to the house, rested for a while, packed up and drove back.
and Nan's here tonight and will go back tomorrow.
so there was our weekend! Just love the beach; it had been a while since I went to one. I'd love to live near the surf or something!
anyway the weather has started to warm up, again. Lol today forecast 26.
so yeh, got sore legs! *grr the UV is bad!
In other news, not long after I posted in here thursday I got my package from NSW (the music shop on E-bay) - The Stan Zemanek lunatic callers double CD. It was sold out on his site so I did a search and found a stock on ebay.
I haven't got a straight opinion about Stan. I think half of what he comes out with is uncalled for, but then he doesn't muck around with people; and that is what he was like on beauty and the Beast, 3AW (when he was doing the show here for a year) and 2UE (where he's always been)
The CDs themselves sure has evidence of Lunatic callers, without a doubt, but at the same time, there are "normal" "straight" people on there who are trying to give their rational views, and, unfortunately as with the majority of "bad" talkback hoasts, he will chop them off and/or talk to them like they have absolutely no clue. -- to emphasize my point, I want to review/analyze each call in my LJ; realizing that the majority of my readers wouldn't have heard this, but it's more for my own interest - as this LJ is anyway! Lol!
So, while I could say I have a sorta love/hate relationship with him, that wouldn't qquite work as he doesn't know me therefore, it can't be defined as a relationship; more, opinion of him; if that makes sense; a love/hate opinion of him? Lol! one minute I'll be praising him, the next I wanna throw something at the guy (not that I'm violent but man he gets me wild!)
OK so yeh, tis all for now.
til next time, RdFreak
