I'm a little worker
Feb. 12th, 2007 04:54 pmso I actually did end up starting today. thought it may happen, but couldn't be absolutely sure.
anyway, S met up with me at southyarra station and we went in and signed a few forms and stuff (got a TFN but forgot to bring my bank number - that's what we call first-time worker!) anyway it didn't matter too much. L (our boss) orientated me a bit around to the loos and stuff. I'll need my own security pass but didn't get that today. And s showed me where a patch of grass for Heartly was. There's no cAFEs or anything in the building but course being near the city there's plenty of food shops near by. Think most of the time I will aim to bring lunch from home though as it'd be cheaper. I am going to get stacks of cold meat and make my sandwiches the night before so I'm not pushing time, and course biscuits and the other usual stuff one has for lunch. We get half an hour break. and I'm working for three weeks straight now while the other guy (I'm sharing with) is on leave. didn't do a lot today though; was just getting trained on the board and learning all the terminology isn't easy but I'll get it. there is always a lot to remember.
So I'm off to have something to eat as I didn't bother getting lunch today. I was told I could leave early (even though I'd be paid for the day) but I ended up staying on to try and learn some more.
S was instructed to come meet me cos even though I could have prob found the station alright, L wanted to make sure since they have the responsibility with the work and safety standards of us all getting home. so A (this time - from wise) will meet me tomorrow morning at SY station, then discuss work place modification stuff. will see what I can do about getting me an m-power transplant, won't that be cool! and a is to meet me again tomorrow afo, but then I'll be on my own.
but the team is friendly and I'll have fun with them i think.
right, as I say, off to get food! Lol
Til next time, RdFreak
