Ywa ao I know I spelt @birmingham@ wrong in the previous entry, and for a whole week I haven't been able to do a lot about it; and the guilt has plagued me like one wouldn't believe!
Indeed, I haven't used a puter for a whole week; go me!
I'm back in Essex now; sadly, I only have two days here, but since I have had to neglect this LJ, I shall update from where I left off from last Monday being in good old Worcester.
(I have left some things out of our worcester tour so I shall go back and add to it, etc.)
Last tuesday D and I set off for Birmingham on the train. Once there, we made our way to the BBC studeos (which broadcasts mainly current events to the midlands.) We had a very knowledgable young man who explained about all the talk shows that broadcast from the studio down stairs. Then we went upstairs to look at the news room and also be near the studio where (blank).
then went down to the gift shop where I bought a CD of "Mister Minute", then we had lunch in the small CAFE there.
After the tour there we made our way to the tourist centre where we were advised we could get a boat around the Kanelles, which is just what we did. We had a commical narrator who told us all about the history of everything we past on the water.
D and I then went to a pub for tea before cabbing back to the local theatre where we watched the musical @the producers@> It was highly entertaining, so it was.
We didn't get the train back til rather late.
wednesday D and I had a guided tour around the Cathedral, and learnt about the history that has taken place throughout the centuries!
We then both bought a model Cathedral from the gift shop.
I spent that night packing and repacking as I always mannage to scatter stuff around.
Thursday was sad for one and all, Lol! D went back to work, I left at 7 to go to the station to make me way to Bodmin Cornwall.
got there about 1, settled in and tried to figure my way around the hugest of huge houses! man it's massive!
Twas great to catch up with C and J again.
We had lunch and I watched TV for a while. This time is very busy for the camp site so our outings were limitted but still very nice.
Friday C and I went to Loou harbour; we were going to try catch a fairry, but the tide was out, so we ended up sitting near the beach, attempting a Cornish pasty which apparently didn't do much justice for them at all. We had an icecream which was lovely.
Then we drove to Pelparrow. We went to a lovely old pub (who's name has escaped me, as per usual), for a drink, before wandering down the street with flowing waterfalls on each side. When we had walked down the whole street, we caught a horse and carriage back up. Twas cool as I don't think I had travelled in one before.
Then we went shopping and I bought it all because c had to buy my train ticket back to essex because it wouldn't accept my card.
Saturday was a quiet day at the campsite as so many people were to be coming and going that day. I just watched TV and all that jazz, and we had a BBQ that evening with a couple of their friends.
Sunday Z (from the BBQ) came with us to Polzeth where we walked right out into the surf (as the tide was right out). got our photos taken, that sorta thing, then we went to try a real cornish pasty from shop nearby; before driving to padsto to catch a five min fairry into town to walk around, eat icecream and be caught in the end of the rain spell (from rest of country).
Yesterday we went to the Eden project where we walked inside the Meditoranian as well as the extremely humid jungle box.
We caught a ride on the land train back up to the carpark, bought two books from gift shop from family, then rode home.
Today I left on the 10 o'clock train from Bodmin to Paddington from where I caught the tube to the fenchurch street train, and came here to Grays, aka "Lou" territory. it was great to catch up with her again; it kinda seemed like a while since we last saw each other. in a way, a lot has happened.
I haven't used a puter for a whole week, as C and J had an apple mack, and I didn't want to tamper with any speech options. D instructed us on how to turn the audio description on the skye box, so that was OK enough!
right, enough for one entry I guess. will muse more later.
til next time, RdFreak
