another thing I forgot
Oct. 2nd, 2007 08:44 amYes, the most important thing of last week that I totally forgot to mention .. on Friday I was on the bus, doing my recent usual stint of being lazy, and low and behold, I heard .. "the next stop is" (didn't catch the name of the street -- and from then on, I heard street after street being announced until "next stop Blackburn railway station."
so the announcements were pretty quiet, but wow, what a start! We (all blindies) were waiting for this milestone, and I told the busdriver so when I left the bus. i also had remarked how great they were, and I was automatically smiling, so I think he knew i was pleased and may report his feedback; he should anyway!
I guess these are a trial at this stage, but I hope I will hear them on every bus in the near future. It gave me great pleasure to be able to stand up when my stop drew near on my way home (where i was also fortunate enough to get the announcements.) No more getting forgotten at our stops!
I'd been meaning to write to vip-l and co-lists about this as I'd be curious to see how many others have experienced the new announcements.
speaking of vip-l, while I'm here, it occurred to me this morning, since I'd been wondering (off and on) if there's any accessable willkits on line, what are my chances of asking vip-l that question and not looking/feeling like an idiot for bringing up such a morbid subject? I don't think even I want to ask such a question even though it is the type of question I should be able to ask on that list. So, I probably won't ask it! .. ahem .. Not saying I'm planning on carking it any time soon, (sorry enemies ha ha!) but realistically, I'd like to make a will so um .. should the unthinkable does occur - one never knows what can happen, I can give what I want to who I want, ya know .. yeah really.
In other unrelated news, it's a lovely spring day today; 24 degrese C, and since it's likely to be the only warmest day this week, I am contemplating getting out and doing something; only thing is, I hate going out without a real purpose and as all me buds are studying or working, I'd have to probably entertain myself. (indeed not that Shell hasn't tried to call me continuously over the past few days in a row .. but ..can't deal at the moment.) There's also C but then .. I dunno .. or there's facebooking or slowly getting bored hanging online. hmm
Now, as I was thinking before, if I had my trekker, if I only had my trekker from Humanware it would be a totally different scenario. I could go out, and explore the neighbourbood, or even go to the city and walk around with it! Come on Humanware! *whine* I've been patient! *cry*
ah well, i'll no doubt be lazy today! I do want fulltime though, so I don't have to make these decisions and leave myself feeling guilty! I, in fact, can't wait til I do get fulltime! Judging from when I worked the shifts a few weeks ago, it can be exausting but then that's what weekends are fore; to recooporate.
