my fifth singing lesson!
Apr. 6th, 2008 04:05 pmAm I going to keep counting my singing lessons in here? who knows, but .. well .. I can always give it a try, seen as I didn't and couldn't last very long at my previous singing teachers, nor my poor old piano for that matter, but we won't go there for now! ..
I am having a relaxing day today; finishing ripping my Kath and Kim DVDs I bought yesterday; I didn't have them all on computer; at least, there were a few missing, so I thought, what the heck! and I also bought Muriel's wedding which I ripped yesterday. It makes my Aussie movie collection that I'd wanted, complete, I think. there's a few more movies I wanna get, but ah well; they'll come! i bought these at Sanity after my lesson.
Yesterday g wanted to work on resonence with me, so that was what we mainly concentrated on. I am still kinda breathy on my high notes, but I'm improving. I blame the reflux, as I am sure I never use to be like that .. *cough* ..
When I worked on resonating one note, I actually found I could start to project a lot more. -- G pointed out that Heartly was looking up at me at one of the points where I was vibrating throughout the room, Lol (that sounds weird .. anyway ..) I patted Heartly and said "Yes Heartly; I know I can't sing" .. to which G pointed out that wasn't exactly true! anyway she and I can notice improvements so I guess that's a good thing for sure! :) -- I can actually understand doing all this before I get started with actual songs; I couldn't before, but once one can solely work on technique, one knows what they're aiming for when getting into singing actual songs. However, I say this, but I noticed that while I was waiting for the previous student (L), I noticed she was singing some kind of classical song; I couldn't tell properly because I was reminded of Music camp when doing our quire rehearsals; G would let her sing a few notes before stopping her and telling her what she did wrong and right. Maybe she does let us sing the way through before this stage, I don't know; wasn't there. but I know with "ONLY HOPE", I was stopped and started again; maybe it's what "normal" singing teachers do, as oppose to my .. weird one I at in the very beginning! Lol :)
work tomorrow. L tells me Friday she promises to get me in Queens this week. I will honestly be very sad to leave SY, but at the same time, know I'll be more stable in there, so it's now the only reason I will be happy to go in there.
