I always say, some people are rubbish! Most of them have way too much time on their hands, I swear!
I had a problem the other day with a comment aimed at me that was very nasty and sarcastic in nature. I found out yesterday that this account was fictional; "creative writing" account "it" likes to call it (yes, it. the real person does not deserve a gender ...)
This same account was also banned from idol for trolling the community.
Whether or not anyone is a mutual friend of mine is beside the point; they get punished.
Trolls will get reported to the abuse team if I have anything to do with them. (fortunately I have banned both accounts from commenting in my LJ - the real "it", and the fake "it") but any anonymous comments to my LJ track IP addresses, so unless "it" likes the thought of being reported, I'm satisfied enough with the outcome! The fake "it" also leeched on to my "friend of" list, which, was a bit much for me, and apparently banning gets rid of them on that list, so I won't need to see their ugly head/s again!
"It" could potentially ruin a friendship but that's probably what "it" wants. and, I guess it's up to M hey?!
Look, if one wants to make a fake account, I have no probs with it; in fact, I've got a couple of them myself, but I would never troll other communities with it, or make comments to people I don't know; that's what can get people really fired up, and, I don't think trolls are welcomed in the TOS.
