good friends (but bad bosses)
Jun. 18th, 2008 07:31 pmWell Ang and I met up with Maki for lunch today; it was awesome, just awesome to see her again. we went to timeout (a CAFE in fed Square).
I was waiting near the steps at flinders station, not really sure if Maki would be coming as I hadn't been able to get an email through to her, (not sure why as Ang did, so need to try again), and I heard this familiar enthusiastic voice and accent "hi Rachel!" We hugged and were just so excited. -- the last time we saw each other was eight years ago, so Heartly was with me, but only just!
Then ang arrived and we went over to Timeout!
M had bought us some japanese chocolate bars each, and we all pretty much caught up on the past eight years! She's tried emailing both of us, but ya know, .. as technology moves on, so does our email addresses, Lol! but I am about to email her all my contact details.
She was just sooo excited to be there! -- she leaves tomorrow; not a long visit, but they don't get a lot of holidays.
I think I may go over there though in the not--too-distant future; it'd be awesome, considering I have the continous major travel bug still! and now I've experienced my first non-English speaking country, I'll be right with her to help me and translate! Lol! -- but at least I did know more German I guess.
anyway, all good things must come to an end; I was back at work at 1.55 and got told off for not letting L know I'd ben on an extended lunch. I had asked if I could have me lunch at 12.15, but i guess I failed to mention I may be longer. Well I was, and I should have let her know. she had no problem with me having an extended lunch but I should have let her know, and/or called. Yes, indeed I should have; I did make a mistake, and I told her this! I told her I realized I should have told her, and I apologized, about three times, but she was still on at me.
I would have understood if she'd said it once and accepted my apology, but she went on to say she doesn't think I'm clear about it, and wanted me to keep on apologizing! -- so needless to say, that got me down! i was so happy and was actually going to thank her, when i got in the room, for giving me that lunch break as it was the only time we could catch up, (as M's doing stuff with her hoast families), but no! instead, I ended up in tears on the train to RB.
It's always something, but it's only cos I'm a woman she's so horrible to me! -- yep, I'm probably going; can't cope.
so shame I had to put a dampener on, what should have been a very exciting post! but at least I've got yet another amazing true friend! :)
Oh, and I'm meeting up with another new friend on Monday, yeah! T and I are meeting in the city for dinner; it will be great! we spent ages on the phone before; actually missed the first minute of neighbours, but I didn't complain, cos we had a great chat!
computer users was pretty good last night. A couple of the guys brought in their ID mate and told us all about it, gave us a demo and then let us have a go. it seems pretty good, but I think i'd rather that scanner we can get with the N82 (the KNFB reader, I think it is Lol :) too expensive though atm; hope it comes down!
