Dearest Heartly,
Wow, what an amazing final couple of days you've had with your working life. hope you've enjoyed them, even though it's been hot hot hot.
Jords' bash yesterday was a blast, after you and the other dog guide finished yapping at each other! There were indeed so so many people, and all the while your ear was well protected by your anxious mother.
Then we tripped off to B's where you were thoroughly spoilt as usual; you even finally made a new friend and established yourself in that particular pack. I'm sure Grandma will be so pleased that you're so clean and groomed now; B so looked after you!
So now it's all over Miss Heartly! time for you to retire and just spend the rest of your hopefully-long life to come doing what you want to do. No more deadlines to meet. No more being-on-your-best-behaviour, though you still have to be good for Nan, and please try not to give-in to any temptation regarding extra food etc. I'll be keeping an eye out! Lol!
Well Heartly, as I say, you have been an absolute pleasure and delight! Your work over the past nearly-ten-years have just been amazing, and we taught each other so much about the world of dog guides!
You will always be my first dog guide, and you in turn, have witnessed so many first's for me; My first volunteer work, my first independent overseas travel (even though you of course didn't accompany me there), my first intimate relationship, my first real falling out with good friend/s, relationship A, my first successful enrollment into university, my first job interview; followed by first job, Relationship B and now C (which you *will see blossom over the coming months; man, you've seen it all girl; been there with me to guide me through everything! How can I thank you? Like I say, this LJ will now be dedicated to you; my one and only Heartly!
Do enjoy your life with Nan; I know you will! And, I won't be keeping away too often if I can help it, don't worry, or maybe you will? Lol! And when I introduce my new bundle of Joy (literally :) to you, do welcome her into our family and show her how it's done!
I will love you, always and for ever Heartly!
Bestest wishes for a long life yet, Mum; xoxoxoxo
