still not there yet

I slept in til 10.20 today; still not altogether recovered yet, but am making great progress. Nan offered to come over this afo to help me with some shopping since I'm still not quite energetic enough, so that will be good. Then tomorrow I should be right. I want to go into the city just to work Joy to make sure she hasn't lapsed in the area of busy work which I'm sure she hasn't, but still, I aim to do this; not to mention hopefully meeting up for pancake parlour with Salix next week prob in city anyway.
I probably won't be able to wake up in time, but I would like to go to the new church Sunday, though maybe I may go in the evening; I shall see.
was sure there was something else but can't recall now; ah well, later, as they say in the states.

OUCH!

K I first heard of Ouch because of my friend damon Rose who use to hoast blindkiss with the late Sara Morgan. I'd heard that Damon became involved in Ouch but I'd never heard it up until earlier.
I was going through my "favourites" list on Klango and thought I'd give this a go as I had put it in there ages ago. Damon wasn't on it; whether he was just a guest or he'd retired from the show, I'm not sure, but there was this other guy and girl and I was able to gather that they were both in wheelchairs. They did sound a lot of fun. The mood and what they get across is like Blindkiss which is all good, and I loved it on blindkiss as they never referred to themselves as having a disability. For as long as people have tried to say I have a "disability" I've had a major problem with the word; don't like it at all, and I'd never be proud of having to say I have a "disability".
These people seemed very out and proud of the word "disability" which just isn't me. I dunno; maybe being in a wheelchair can be more excusable, and I certainly know why some would say us blind people have it, because in a way, i guess, it's true. We don't have the ability to see, but that's all; we can still walk, talk and do everything else.
I loved what Ros (my drama teacher at CAE) once said, "everybody has abilities and disabilities; it was just a passing comment at the time, but it is so true.
maybe some people will want to call me stupid or whatever, but I refuse to be called "disabled. and, I don't get offended with anything to do with my blindness, but I must say I do get offended when family and friends say that they should get a disabled parking sticker cos of me, (fortunately no-one has said that, except I believe I remember my distant reloss from U.K did say it last year when I was in the car with them once), and it was all I could do to not cringe and say something bad!
My point is, I enjoyed blindkiss a great deal and I've got all their shows and sound clips on my puter, and yes I did enjoy this March eppisode of Ouch, and will def listen in the future, probably as soon as when I finish this post, but I couldn't help cringing when they spoke loudly and proudly about their disability as though talking about a brand new car or something. (heh; bad analegy but I've never been good at them).
But I do think their segment "vegie, vegie, vegie" is interesting where they get people to make themselves known through email, and be called by the Ouch hoasts, and they have to guess their .. um .. "disability".
anyway that's just me, and now I go back and listen to it. I hope I am able to find out the reason they're in a chair, though would prob find that out if I went right back to the first eppisode, which I'd need to go to the site for, not Klango as that only keeps about the past ten podcasts.
