Well, I had one of the better weekends I've had in a while; I spent all of it from approx 12.30 yesterday until approx 4.30 today with
monsqueek and a little bit less time but still just as valuable, with
salix_03.
I arrived; Mon met me at station but it's a sinch to get back to her place so we'll have it figured out in no time. salix arrived and we went shopping for our roasty goodness. It was here that our saying 'go get a roast" to replace the more commonly-used 'go get a life" was born, lol!
Anyway, we had much fun and laughter buying all we needed before we went back to Mon's, had lunch and started on the cookies. I graciously received tips on mixing techniques etc.
As we had no oven mits, i contributed to the roast-making afterwards by chopping some of the vegies, and again, taking tips on how to spice the taste of the lamb up a bit. It was a super lovely lovely tea; the lamb was done so so so well, and the garlic flavour throughout the meat and the vegetables was just to die for! mmm -- we had cookies for disert (which probably wouldn't come as much of a surprise).
Karen then left with son (who had arrived before dinner) and after yet another cuppa (I was introduced to Chy tea; mmm), we went to bed. I stayed on the most comfortable thickest ever air matress; it had an automatic pump that let's the air in and out respectively.
Mon proved a great hoast, asking me all the time if I was comfortable and needed anything; I was certainly comfortable, even had permission to "go sick" with the heater if my cold little body needed it, which it did mind you, but that was alright.
This morning Salix came back and we enjoyed some delicious pancakes for breakfast and some leftover roast dinner from last night for lunch, and Troy came to help us eat it; however there were still leftovers; we observed that indeed a leg of lamb easily does more than seven well-portioned meals.
Oh i must add here that Joy had a fantastic time throughout her visit; She'd never seen so many toys before and her friend Luigi obviously didn't mind as she pulled out toy after toy and played with them; "fetch" for us sometimes, and just dragging them around in her mouth feeling proud of herself during the remainder. She was even showing off by carrying two toys at some stages.
Salix and Troy left about 4 and I left soon after. Caught the train to Clayton then the bus as was done in reverse yesterday; it's an easy trip but takes time.
We're going to make this a pretty regular thing, this dinner partying of ours!
And I am tired so it won't be long out of bed for me.
