Yesterday's tribute deserved an entry of it's own. I did have a good weekend though.
Went to Salix' place Friday; we had homemade nachos, and lots of tea! -- then she dropped me back at Mon's and we had a lovely apricot chicken dish for dinner.
Saturday, Mon went to school (as I'd said in the LJ I mannaged to write there using espeak (I since found out from Kezza).
Then Kaz came for a cuppa, then we drove to Parkmore where we got stuff for the cookup that evening. we then had brunch at the coffee club; I had Cinnamon toast; lovely but incredibly not healthy!
Salix then bought some scones and we went back to her place where we had them along with a cuppa.
We spent the day talking and copying awesome eagles stuff, and eating chocolate and running around with Joy in the front yard.
We went back to Mon's for a lovely roast pork where Salix did do a lot of the work; that shouldn't have happened but she chopped the vegies at her place and I was still drinking my cuppa and I had a blanket around me to keep warm.
We had a lovely Sat evening before salix went home and I fell on to my comfortable air matress with a dozen and one blankets (well, not quite, but I was lovely and warm) and drifted off to sleep. Mon was on her puter and was trying to talk to me but I was gone.
Sunday was spent eating lollies (and them having their disgusting bubble tea; Lol :)
Salix then drove me to my parents house, (well Troy did actually) and they had a cuppa there before they left. I stayed there that night as mentioned before so as to go to the funeral with them yesterday morning.
I have my six-month followup today; can't remember if Paula (and maybe Donna) is coming at 1 or 2.30, but that's OK. We'll prob just walk up to the station and then grab a coffee as we seem to always do with the instructors these days. -- I also had requested some O&M with guide dogs, but they must be heck busy as that was weeks ago, so if they still say they can't fit me in today, may have to go through Vision Australia. I's wants to do a bit around forestHill and to the family doctor as there's a bus line there I's hear.
Oh, before on the radio, i heard Olivia Newton-John being interviewed for the first time; that was on MTR.
Oh also, I ended up buying myself a USB tape deck from ZAZZ on sat night; well Mon controled the puter as she'd pissed espeak off by that stage! Lol Lol! -- it will be very handy so I can encode the rest of my millions of tapes, (and that time i wasn't exaggerating.)
Also, I heard advertize a service called SMS for jobs so will go check that out now.

I got my USB tape Deck. the good thing about Zazz being based in Melb is that it doesn't take five to seven working days for products to get to us, as it says on the site.
And, unbelievably, i quickly worked out how to get a tape in and get it playing. Basically we put the tape in length ways with the tape part to the left and it just plays; it has rewind and fastforward, and to stop it we just eject the tape; seems easy to use. I am so not use to being able to figure out technology these days; I use to be great at it before everything became digital and menu driven, but fortunately this is not!
Next step of course is to find where the USB cable plugs into the unit and record using sound forge. these things come with audasity but I only know soundforge, so am sure we can use it with that. I wonder if we still need to configure the puter volume controls or if it just works; will figure that one out.
Well, no guide dog people yet; guess she did say 2.30 after all! :)

Just had followup; it went well. we walked to the station and had a tea/ hot chocolate. Joy walked slow almost the whole way there and back, *grrrr* I hate it when she plays up just when we're being watched, but basically they (Paula and donna) loved her; thought she was just so sweet and her work and responsiveness to me was just amazing, so that was good. think Joy just hated the wet. they want to try her on a different harness though. they reckon now her shoulders have filled out a bit, it's slightly in the wrong place. Also they suggested I might cut her food down a tad as she's looking a bit big; Ang had also said this the other day.
I accidently left my runners at parents house, and the boots I wore killed; not for walking long distances I guess.

Getting started!
It was dated 27th July 2003; kinda proud of that; so many years ago!
I only came across this writers block entry as I've been reading some old entries of mine (as I occasionally do) and looking at profiles of old LJ friends; it's so interesting finding out most of them are still using this thing. -- I've had so many LJ friends come and go over the years; so many have stuck around as well! :)
