I've searched through my archive of memories and can't think of a single time I've done this, but, it was just pretty recent that I heard of this idea of "free hugs". -- I was amazed to hear that people stand in the city with a sign saying "hug me!" -- it is a nice idea for the recipient and the giver. -- i personally don't think I could do it though.
i myself have never hugged easily. Over the past .. say .. ten years, I have done so more freely with friends, mainly because they do it, so I figure "why not", and to start with, it was a case of "I should be returning the gesture". But I still only would give special friends a hug, and I mostly will pick up on huggy people or otherwise, and just hug those ones who I think would appreciate it.
But hugging loved ones have never been an issue. There's nothing like cuddling and snuggling up to "that special person".
I have always found it quite difficult to hug my family though; don't really know why; but since Dad's been away and come back, I have found it a bit easier.
I know I went off on a tanjent, but ah well; doesn't matter!
I fell asleep with my puter on before, and made the mistake of getting up to check the email that had come in the meantime. now am wide awake, and after a burst of sneezing, am even more so.
I was wide awake and on here Wednesday morning from 3 to 5.30 AM, and it allowed me to have a good catch up with a few people on msn including damon F (it's been years since we spoke, but yeah for facebook),
internet_king who I also had failed to catch up with for some time and my newbuddy
lulu_k who I saw on msn for the first time! -- yeah and more yeah for new friends! :)
I got off Melbournemaniac earlier which I'd been on for most of my LJ life, but, i was really sick of the drama that was starting to erupt with each post, and the moderators clearly don't give two hoots, so I may see what
melbournelj is like, though it was great reading my friends page with no dominating communities tonight!
Tuesday night was computer users group. The new ventrilo server prooved quite tiresome as there were some big delays, so we will have to sort out yet another option; maybe we'll try a ventrilo server within australia, which should have happened from the start.
guess I may try going to bed again. til next time, RdFreak
