Aug. 25th, 2004 09:50 pmWell I am tired and about to go to bed as I will be having to get up early tomorrow. i so better sleep all night else I won't be happy - probably literally too! Lol!
Well this morning was a bit kinda sad .. I was lying in bed, thinking that I might give Nan a call to find out how her friend Joan was. She was only diagnosed with leukemia last week, and after that she was physically well but on sunday Nan advized her to go to hospital as she was in heaps of pain and couldn't keep anything down! so she went in the ambulence, and .. sounded pretty bad.
So this morning as I was laying there, I'm thinking man it would be terrible if she died. I mean it sounds pretty nasty! so I call Nan and immediately knew something was up as she didn't sound herself and .. sure enough .. she told me that Joan had passed away yesterday (Tuesday 3.30) so that was very sad! I mean she hadn't known about the leukemia for that long but it had probably taken hold quite a while ago. She was 86 and she hardly ever got sick apparently. So as she'd said to Nan, she had a good long healthy life.
It's still such a shock though especially when they're pretty active pretty much up to when they die.
Well I guess that's kinda a good thing and how most probably would wish to go.
So that was a downer but then .. I got my ADSL modem. It actually involved someone coming to the door and asking if Heartly bit (as she was being her usual watchdog self ;) so I'm like "no no not at all" but he just handed it through the door anyway. it was in a bag that seemed to be extremely glued together. inside was another bag, then a box and inside another box which, I presumed was the modem. then there was another little box inside the bag. so there's two things that could either be the modem or the phone filter, and a small thing which i am presuming is a splitter or something.
Anyway .. all day I was checking the status of my installation on the site, and everything has been done .. except .. "waiting for Telstra to activate line" man! and M tells me it's soo easy and quick to do! But he also pointed out that it's probably cos I'm not their direct customer for the net, well I am with my phone so .. go do it! *grrrr Oh and I have decided to go prepaid with telstra after this as I know I won't be using my phone as much! quite sad really that I haven't had time to call anyone much! but, I will! ha!
So I am counting on them tomorrow! Then I will probably see if A can help install. either that or Dad when he gets back from Sydney
Well today didn't do a lot. Spent a lot of time on Freedom chat, but it kept on dying today for some reason. Never use to be like that at all! oh well! Had a good meaningful time on there anyway chatting to peeps!! and now .. for absolutely doing nothing today, I am tired and going to bed!
Might update meself on the friends page while I'm there.
