weekend stuff!
Aug. 26th, 2007 03:32 pmSo Nan came over friday and stayed that night. She came with me to the vet, and sure enough, Heartly was trying to go every way but the right way.
anyway her eyes are just the same; not too bad at all, so we just have to monitor it.
Then came back and was fighting with Shea on the zone boards. I started it though. The day before, i had been reading all these negative remarks from her regarding this poor young girl and her situation of not being motivated enough to shower each day. I was furious! When this girl asked if she should move out and will there be robbers, shea's comment of "don't worry about them. they won't come near the joint considering you don't shower" was the last straw.
i mean, the thing is, while I can ignore these such idiots on the zone (which I still do) some of these blind people have no-one else, and advice from other blindies on the boards is all they have. Sure, people can make constructive comments, which a lot did, then we get these arrogant people like shea who like to plain put them down. Then she has the nerve to say that "the truth hurts". -- only when ya put things the way you do love!
I wrote a board post pretty much stating this, also said that I'd definitely been in that situation before; it's deep depression; she snarked back, I replied and will leave it at that. As I said, it's so disgusting how so many of the older people on there don't know any better; the young ones are fine! People can be soooo cruel!
Then in the afo I went to curt's housewarming afternoon tea. Twas pretty fun. A lot of his older neighbours were there. G and G called in and I had a lovely long chat to Gail. Turns out she'd emailed me back though I never saw it. I had so much email though when I got back that I may have easily just lost it. She was pleased to hear from me and would love to catch up soon; so I'll email her my details and we'll do dinner or lunch or something soon.
then I was invited back to Curt's family house, so stayed there for a light tea, then came back here about 10 (as I knew I couldn't sleep in this morning.) w gave me the leftover pinwheels she'd made so that was nice! I really loved them and asked her for the recipe.
this morning i met
golden_sands , her dog Molly,
harmonybear and her dog Prince at Fairfeild station, and we caught a cab to the centre for the lunchen. Well, the first driver told us he couldn't take three dogs (which was crap; just don't think he wanted the dogs at all) so we got a big van.
The lunch was a lot of fun; was great to catch up with everyone. We saw Pete who directed us to this table at first with a few other people but then M came over and took us to where J, L and others were. So we all had a good catchup, and people kept coming to talk to us throughout the afternoon.
fortunately S (the head of GDV now) is going to have these lunchens more often, which I think is a great idea. He had done this in Perth and they worked well.
At the end, all us clients were able to get another rain coat which is good cos I don't like Heartly's other one; though guess it's not very different come to think of it.
Then I got a lift back with J and family which was nice.
now just to relax, cook tea, watch Kath and Kim at 7.30 and, make my sandwich for tomorrow. decided I am going to bring my own lunch for the next few weeks to work, and I have bought up a storm to make them more interesting! yeah! .. way cheaper, even though I'm certainly not short by the longest shot ever, but .. so .. not as healthy but I will be making bacon sandwiches for a while, then I have clicks biscuits with Bre cheese, (I loooove my cheese and crackers) and normal biga cheese to use sometimes as well, plus a whole variety of sweet biscuits! mmm! Lol almost can't wait! haha! I looove my food!
til next time, RdFreak
