Well between when I last updated and now, I have had various little problems with this thing, but fortunately had corrected them.
the main news is though that I now have active Sync working correctly! It's a funny kinda install because we're actually installing two versions of it. I had wondered why it was trying to install twice, so I had ignored the other one. anyway from the advice of S, I followed both the installs though and .. bingo .. I was able to finally sync the PDA with the puter. I upgraded to the latest as well as there'd been another build since my CD.
then, I tried it this morning but couldn't get a connection with the receiver; didn't even get the hardwear sound at all. Dad had come over to give me a left over dish of potatoe pie I can have tonight. and he kinda suggested that maybe the bluetooth device wasn't enabled. So I went in, and sure enough, though it was on, it had been disabled some how (maybe during my upgrade). so enabled that and I was right.
Dad was impressed, when it worked!
Last night and before it was raining, but now that the sun is out, I'm thinking i'll go out and mark my home as a favourite. then, if I feel like a walk, i may mark Mcdonalds and my safeway (just cos they should be marked). and, will wait to do Blacky station Monday, just cos I'm prob too lazy to walk up there atm!
so at the moment it's all working peechy and I'm happy with it! :)

Wow, even though i had (and still have sometimes) a bit of trouble with this thing, it's by far one of the bestest things i bought.
I just went for a walk and marked some personal POIs (points of interest), being my home (I recorded the word "home" just outside my complex as I couldn't get any coverage anywhere up my drive then for some reason; but was planning on doing it anyway there.) then I walked to the safeway carpark and did another recording, then the bus stop, Mcdonalds (on corner) then went around the corner to the entrance of safeway!
then as I went back, it announced all of the POIs exactly where I had stood to record them, (using just numbers of course.)
oh and it did point out the couple of intersections I passed as well, though the timing was a tad out for one of them.
anyway sure enough, when I reached my drive, it announced my first POI.
got back and editted the POIs which I found them all and did without trouble. i deleted the voice recordings and named them all. it's soo easy to do. I thought I may have a bit of trouble figuring out how to do that (even though i read the manual, I wasn't 100% clear), but I did it all fine! it's soo cool!
I love it! I love it a lot!
and now I got to go and humt around for me receiver cos in all my excitement, i put it down on my bed, or on the desk or on me bed side table, but I can't remember where! *grrr Lol
