mm so I think I have Monday itus after having the week off when I had been working the full time for so long!
however, i have me PDA and Royal tech (gps receiver) fully charged up, and I have taken everything off the belt tthat came with the PDA (cos honestly, I don't think I will ever use it cos I think it would *really make me stand out.) I have simply put the GPS unit in its small case, and will clip it to the front of my shirt (with my jacket zipped up to the top, have the PDA in my jacket pocket with the headphones plugged in, and of course I will only make use of one of the ear pieces.
so I plan to walk to the station, just to really see my trekker in action. then it will be my duty to mark blackburn station as a personal POI (since for some strange reason I will never for the life of me understand, it's not on the main map. As I said on the Aus list a couple of days ago, it's been there for donkeys years! Lol)
then I will be interested to see how it goes in SouthYarra, and indeed if that station is on the maps.
cool huh?!
now am off to have breakfast while I read me LJ friends page, then quickly check email, make me lunch and head off.
til next time, RdFreak

Well, I was just amazed today, blown away by everything trekker! I am so glad I got it! I knew it would change my life, and I am definitely not thinking any differently.
I had me about seven satellites walking to station this morning. and sometimes it would tell me the intersections kinda pretty far away from them, but mostly I found it was accurate enough that I was pretty much about to step on the curb.
walking along, hearing all the names of the streets was just awesomige! :)
and I did mark blackburn station as a POI.
and I found, once I got on the platform, I had eleven satellites. Wasn't sure why I had so many then.
I switched it on to motorized mode (for the first time in its life) when I got on the train, and it told me all the streets I was passing. I still have nine or so satellites!
anyway, all was similar for the rest of me journey.
When I got to southyarra and was walking from station to work, it was overloaded with POIs; half I didn't even know were there!
At lunch time I marked Southyarra station cos that wasn't even on the maps obviously.
It was definitely "show and tell" today, as I showed D and RB the PDA and Royaltech, as well as D the olympus, finally! Lol
anyway on my way home, even though I asked the bus driver, I knew where my stop was with trekker. It made me laugh because it announced my home as we of course whizzed past it! Lol It's just soo cool; I can't get over it!
In other news, I am forever amazed at the people who I'm finding on facebook; and the ones finding me! It's like school all over again!
am off to parents tomorrow for Ang' b/day; Nan as well I think.
I'll walk from Mitcham station tomorrow I think, so I can hear what trekker tells me!
I'm kinda tiredish now; early to bed tonight I think.
Oh Neighbours is dramatic. Poor Susan (my favourite character) accidently hit Deej, so will she cop it even harder than she already has, if Deej dies! not susan!
