back home!
Apr. 8th, 2009 07:30 pmWell, as subject says, i'm well and truly back home; been home since Monday at 5.25 AM, or a little before if we must count being in the air still.
Though I tried to get on wireless in dubai, I didn't quite mannage it; i did for a tiny while on twitter, but it kept dropping out.
Basically from when i last left off:
last thursday was a long day. Christine and Jack dropped me off to the coach stop in toun about 8.25 AM and of course waited with me til the coach came.
I got into Heathro at 2.30 and then got assisstence checking in at the Emirates desk.
I then waited for the nine and a half hours til I boarded the flight!
Got to dubai at 8.10 their time, only about six hours something.
I had a sleep for four hours that day, then dad and I went to T.G.I's that evening for dinner; this was to celebrate my birthday early!
Saturday we didn't do much. we had a few things in mind, but I felt like being lazy. I did go to the supermarket with Dad, and he bought ingredients to make his spaghetti which he made that night.
Then, Sunday was a sad farewell as he drove me to the airport and I checked in again for the last time this trip!
The flight to Melbourne was twelve hours and fifty-five minutes. I was sitting next to this lovely guy from Birmingham U.K, who was coming out to motor-bike around Australia. I gave him my email address, so when he gets back on there, he'll write and let me know how he enjoyed it!
Man, the flight was long! though, most of the way, I occupied myself pretty well with Neighbours eppisodes on my notebook, and when those batteries died after about three hours, I listened to the I-pod.
Mum picked me up. We got out about 6 AM, and we drove to Nan's for a while.
Then we went back to Mum's to pick up Heartly, and she then dropped me back home.
Heartly was soo excited to see me! I was excited to see her, I can tell you! :)
I turned my puter on when i got home, only to find that one of the fans wasn't working! I later on discovered with the help of RB, that it would be the case fan. so I asked if Peter H would come around to have a look at it for me.
I went to sleep then with puter off, and though I did wake up later, i pretty well stayed in bed and listened to the radio in the evening before falling asleep again.
Went to work Tuesday and crashed as soon as i got home. Oh, I did try the puter again yesterday morning, and both fans seemed to fire up again, and that's how they've been to date! so fortunately, it's righted itself now!
Today i went to work to see the boys again and was quite tired as I woke at about 2.30 this morning! I don't seem to be able to fight the jet lag as well as last time.
I was going to go to bed after this and listen to some podcasts on Klango, but I will try and stay awake if I can help it!
Oh, I plan to install Jawter on here too!
Heartly was very enthused about getting straight back into work yesterday; actually, she did not step out of line once, in terms of sniffing and trying to scam food! Think she did miss her work!
