Well, today is my final full day here! kinda can't believe it, when I have just recovered pretty much from my cold; having said that, my nose was pretty blocked last night but eased up this morning, and I've still got all my sense of taste and smell back!
It has been the best day weather-wise that I have experienced here this time. The sun has been out; it's been about 18 degrese C, but I actually got a bit too warm at one stage!
We had a lovely day out! First we went to the town Truo as there was a thorntons there, and I'd promised miss
lauren_kh and myself that I was going to visit one this time! I got a lovely selection for both of us.
Then we called into Laclane (a kitchen wear shop) as Christine wanted to get dad a better potato peeler than what he has ever been able to find in Dubai!
We then drove to the Maritime museum in Falmouth.
We had lunch in the CAFE there, then went into this room which was showing a documentary on the Titanic. We didn't watch all of it though as we only walked in towards the end of it unfortunately.
The floors were set out according to the sea level we were hypothetically on.
We looked at all kinds of real boats and ships on the ground floor, including a big rubber raft with tent material over the top which we climed intoo. it was comfortable, Lol!
On the rfirst floor there were pieces to read and audio about several of the famous voyages that took place dating back centuries.
On the second floor had a few things I could touch, the rest behind glass of clothes, crockery, cutlery and furniture that would have been on Titanic at the time in all the different classes.
When we'd arrived in the museum, we got given a card with a passenger's name on. There was a list of all the passengers, and we had to look for ours, to see if they survived or not! It's so sad! I actually didn't realize that a list was public like that! Wonder if there's one available on the net? I will have to check!
Also, I'd heard on the doco, that the designer of the ship had actually been made aware of the iceberg. he also requested the ship to move faster to try and break records to impress the media. I totally did not know that!
Then, we were going to go on a cruise, but by that time, as the others had been on it many times previous, I wasn't too fussed.
We got home and Louise and Buster were here.
Got to pack tonight! My case will be a tad heavier than it was before! Lol
Dad was telling me there was an unsecured wireless network that he found that works in his room, so will prob be able to get on here in Dubai.
So tomorrow, I get the Coach from the town at 8.40, and arrive into Heathro about 3. My flight isn't til 10.10 so I will have a bit of a wait.
Tatita for now!
Til next time, RdFreak
