second last day for week one
Nov. 12th, 2009 01:05 pmWell, subbject says it.
Yesterday afo was spent doing some obsticle work in the corridor as it was extremely hot. Joy is such a confident little dog; guiding me around them all with such pride.
This morning we went on another successful residential walk, and this afternoon, as it's not as hot, we'll be going on another.
I'm learning a lot about Joy; that I don't have to compensate at all like I was doing with Heartly towards the end. We never seem to realize how much we do compensate for our old dogs. But I've gotten into some bad habbits which I am trying to break with Joy; but it's not unusual for second plus handlers to do this.
As I speak some of the dogs are being taken to get weighed, so I imagine Joy will be taken down soon.
Before Dave, Sharon and myself went across the road to the guidedog shop where I bought a stuffed dog which barks when squeezed, and a guide dog in harness whom I straight away named Heartly as it is also black.
At the moment, because it's such a big class, we are alternating taking our dogs in at meals.
There's another client who came in today for a guide dog asessment. Apparently he's staying two nights.
Well everyone here is cool; I'm even getting on better with Daryl now!
Til Next Time, RdFreak
P.S. I keep calling Joy Heartly; I so don't mean this; it's just habbit.
