rdfreakWell as we speak I am encoding My Girl to my puter. I got all these vidios from Nan's ages ago and I'm finally getting around to encoding them.
Nan watched half of My Girl with me then she left to go back.
Before that I encoded "JUST ONE OF THE Kids"
An eight minute documentary made in 1989 (when I was 10) about my intergration into a regular school from burwood. This was kind of mid- 89 and the filming was very tiring; I can remember it quite well actually. There was heaps of stuff they filmed that never went on there. Heaps of visual stuff of me at RVIB, Verdale, Mum dropping me and angie off to school wearing her "80's clothes" as Ang pointed out just a few weeks ago. (Lol) myself skipping with all my little friends, myself playing sport with the others cheering, myself having mobility (supposing to be at the "beginning of term". jordina about this book with a character called Ophelia in it Lol! (and by the way her voice is what you hear in a couple of the little speeches) as well as myself and another couple of boys. Also we heard the voice of my mobility instructor at the time, Nicola.
and it flashed from me doing viseo Therappy (the forward roll in there,) homecrafts (peeling a cabbage) and braille music respectively.
so thought I'd upload the audio.
This documentary was made for other teachers to watch and, I guess consider having more "blindies at their school".
There was also a book released for the same purpose about me called "A blind girl in my classroom" (I think Lol! .. it contained mainly photos I believe of myself and my classmates in Grade 3 (third grade) playing on the old Apple 2UE computer that was in the classroom with the Echo speech.
