long boring flight back to Melb tomorrow. Not looking forward to it, because I stop six and a half hours in dubai.
I leave at 10.15 tomorrow evening and get into Melb 12.30 Sunday morn. Then cos of this foot and mouth outbreaks, "they'll" be very stringent at the airport. I go back to work the following day. Mum and others think I can do it; we shall see; I certainly hope too.
Lou and I are going to
internet_king 's tomorrow, where we'll meet up with Andy B for the day; then I leave at 7. Keep telling Lou she doesn't have to come but as she of course wants to see me off,, we shall see.
today we didn't do too much really; as I felt it wrong to use puter today, I am tonight while Lou is at piano lesson.
forgot to mention a few things: first of all, last tuesday on our way to Birmingham, D called Cadbury world to see if we could get a guided tour around there; totally up my alley yeah! but allas, receptionest said that would @definitely@ be impossible unless we had an "abled" body with us. D asked for 20 mins at least? no, they're short of staff and can't do it.
needless to say, it really pissed him off, understandably. Tours are 13 pound each and they didn't seem to want to care about us. They earn so much money yet they're short of staff! etc.
He then, said he was going to blog about it, write them letters, and basically let them know. not sure if he's done that yet; need to ask him hey?! Guess I thought he was going a bit overboard at first, though I obviously did *want to do the tour so badly, but I know where he's coming from. I am not sure if I will be able to go so far as to not support them no more though, simply unfortunately cos cadbury is my life and there's no other chocolate that can quite match up. I will be wary though on how much I buy! Maybe by the time next year comes around, D's campaign may have achieved something, and I can go to my heaven afterall!
I now got the casio MT65 thanks to D!
he went across the street to buy some bateries, only to come back and discover they were the wrong ones. so he went back to get the right ones, only to come back and realize we were one short! ah dear!
anyway D did plug it in and we had a bit of a jam; well mostly he did actually as I enjoyed listening. He certainly has amazing natural tallent there; I only wish I can be that good with impravization; I have to be taught everything it would seem.
Third thing: I was asking Mum about Heartly the other day, and apparently her catoracts are quite noticeable now. She'll of course be going to the vet soon, but this naturally worries me. how bad are they now? will I be shocked when I get home? As much as I can prepare myself for a doggy transition, I don't think I'll ever be in such termoil as I would on the day of a new GD class. I am not sure though, if I would be ready to move on to a new dog as soon as Heartly retires. anyway who knows; this talk could be for nothing yet. Mum was going to try and fit a vet trip in before I get home.
that's about all I can think of right now. I have some musings about my trip, but it will be left for another day, and prob private.
overall though I fell even more in love with this country; and the people. As I've said to a few, I find them really friendly; different to the way Australians are. course they are friendly but not so much in the sense they will open up and talk to randoms. Was musing to Lou this morning about this, and was pondering maybe cos of the fact that it's drummed into Aussies in the media etc, that no-one can be trusted any more, so it's better not to talk and/or get involved. .. I dunno .. but I love the warmth that we feel when we're out and about amongst others. It's like everyone is one big family, honestly.
Moving here? hasn't changed. not sure I could handle more study though, but haven't got much formal qualifications I can think of besides the work I'm doing now.
Whether I'll do something about it? I will definitely try and keep my options always open.
I love the fact I can already get around the country on my own; I just need to be told what train/s to catch, and, I'm there! -- that's another thing; everywhere is so accessable, whereas Aus is very spreadout, and though we can eventually get to most places, rural? forget it! Lol
well, guess that is all for now.
