I just joined the BSC! :)

So, I saw the community
babysittersclub and thought I'd join it.
I've been fortunate to get hold of most of the e-texts of the series, which is great because back in primary school, I only ever got to read about two or three of the books in braille, as it sadly still is, was hard to come by with just any book we wanted.
So, when I'm at south Yarra, I've been emailing myself the texts and reading them with speech; I'm pretty use to it now, though I'd still preferr my braille any day! :(
anyway, someone posted this interesting way of introducing herself, and I joined in.
We were asked to introduce ourselves as one of the characters would, so trying to write in the style, etc. -- hope I did OK, I think I did a good job of talking in a style they would use.
As a quest to hopefully build up my writing skills again, the text is
And now I'm a new member of the BSC; just joined then, and most probably the eldest, though I haven't had a chance to converse with the others yet, so I could be wrong. I'm 29, and I'm actually from Melbourne, Australia.
I have been to america a few years ago, no-where near the club headquarters unfortunately; I visitted Florida, Navada and California.
I read a lot about the club, and what it's up too, but, since I'm obviously so far away, I join in on some of the meetings via claudia's new webcam! Because I'm old, and wise, I just make sure everything is running smoothly and it's all done fairly, you know.
It's not always easy getting up to join my friends, as I often have to get up in the middle of the night, but it's worth it, to be bossy sometimes.
I've got dark brown hair and hazel-blue eyes, though the colour of my eyes, will largely depend on who you're talking too.
I will never be seen wearing dresses or skirts; I'm a long-slacks girl.
Apart from working with the BSC, during my day time, I work on the switchboard of the ANZ bank, so that keeps me in good practice for being on the phone, and I can pass on tricks to my BSC friends about phone manner, and things like that.
I've always had, what may be described, as an unhealthy obsession with Malery Pyke; you know, her having so many siblings and all. I was always wondering what it was like to be in such a big family growing up, and I think I'd still pester her with questions if I wasn't careful! But I do love to read the stories about her family life.
Well, I think that's all from me. I'm looking forward to my participation in the group, though it's unusual since I am so far away.
and, most of the members are in their 20's, Lol so I guess most of the newer members will be older and wiser than the originals that have stayed the same age for over 20 years! Lol haha!
Not done a lot today; just listened to some more good old Neighbours! :)
til next time, rdFreak
