my final day here

"Well I'd wanted to post earlier but I had a headache all yesterday and didn't feel much like writing.
Saturday we drove to Abu Dhabi(the next Emirate along from Dubai when travelling on Sheikh Zayed road.
Once there, we went to the world's biggest mosque. wow, it was interesting. As I'm a female, I was required to put the dress and the vale on, (will look any such terms up when I get home.) Also we all had to take our shoes off before entering.
As I was holding Dad's arm, we got pulled up for that because even though he was only guiding me, it's a sign of affection, and public affection is not allowed anywhere in the UAE. so that was interesting; we ended up getting away with my holding his shirt. There were carvings (inlaid flowers) all over the marble walls, and carpet covering one half of the floor. The carpet was man-made by the Iranian women; would have taken them ages; was so thick!
While the services are going on, the men and women are in separate rooms, even if they're married. Women are treated as second-class citizen's over here.
Then wile Dad and I were standing still talking, the guy came over to tell us that my vale was in the wrong position so that had to be corrected! Lol it is just so strict!
Anyway after this I was pleased to take the extra clothing off; it was boiling; been 35 degrese over the past few days.
We then went to the Abu Dhabi mal where we had lunch, then we drove home.
Yesterday we went to the Mall of Emirates first to get some more headsets because they're quite cheap so got some as spares. They don't seem to be stereo as it says on the packet, just monno but ah well. After this we went to the iBN buttuta mall, had lunch and checked out the cheap external hard drives. Told J I'd get her one so going back today to do that, and get one for myself; a terabite one. They have this really nice place in their food court which sells delicious Arabic kababs.
Dad had originally wanted to take me to the vburjkalifa (the world's tallest building) but unfortunately that's out of action as one of the lifts broke down. Dad was telling me the lifts go up extremely fast and after 50 floors, we have to go out and catch another one up to the top.
So that's life; it's been an interesting few days. Of course I'm looking forward to seeing Joy and being home but it will be sad to leave in another way as well.
Oh, was talking to Mum Sat morning and she said it must have been a wog I had on the first week as she felt exactly the same I did; couldn't keep her eyes open and had to sleep all the time; I do remember having a similar thing when I arrived in Florida in America.
Not looking forward to 13 hour flight tomorrow but at least it's non-stop I guess.
Salix is kindly going to drop Joy back Wednesday morning, and no doubt I'll be dog tired. But as soon as I get back, going to organize my Perth flights; decided to forget the train idea; may do it another time.
