disappointed

Well, so far, the USB tapedeck has prooved a real disappointment. It works when I've plugged the USB into it and I record through soundforge, but there is a really loud hum behind the recording.
Kez said that he had expected as such for that price really, but it's 54 bucks (49 plus shipping) I could definitely have done with instead of buying a piece of junk. :( Looks like I will have to just live and learn (again) and go back to my trusty old tape recorder and the line-out cable.
Parents came over this morning, and dad fixed the toilet door which I'd had trouble opening for ages; he put another latch on it, so it's easy peasy to open once again; no more using the rubber grip to open it.
I'm also trying to cut the amount of sugar I have in tea; gradual steps for me.

Lol WTF?! -- ah well, I guess I did answer 'yes" to liking History and believing that a few days can be worth more than a few years. :)

You're The Guns of August!
by Barbara Tuchman
Though you're interested in war, what you really want to know is what
causes war. You're out to expose imperialism, militarism, and nationalism for what they
really are. Nevertheless, you're always living in the past and have a hard time dealing
with what's going on today. You're also far more focused on Europe than anywhere else in
the world. A fitting motto for you might be "Guns do kill, but so can
diplomats."
