Job Interview

I've got a job interview tomorrow! It just came out of the blue; so shocked. I applied for this position Monday and I got a call today asking me if I wanted to go in for an interview! She didn't say much else, like anything about my resume but I guess I'll find out tomorrow. Two of them will be interviewing me! It's at 1 so will have time to get ready. I will cab it there, and of course, if I happened to get it, I will use public transport of course! :)
My only concern is accessability with Miob which is the accounting program they use. I called VA today and I had this stupid guy, honestly; he sounded really cold and like he didn't want to talk .. he said the latest versions of jaws are accessable with the latest versions, but I shall call Nick tomorrow as he'll be back then.
And, I couldn't believe that she sounded so calm when i disclosed my vision impairment by telling her I'd be coming in with a guide dog, so is the reception desk near the door. (that is how Emilie has been suggesting us to disclose.) Her calmness honestly surprised me. I was half expecting her to get rid of me with a typical excuse like I've had so many times before.
Man I hope Miob is jaws friendly and that I get the job. Sounds like a lovely friendly environment. but of course, if I don't get it, hey, it's another interview experience.

Hi, Rachel! I wish you the very best of luck with your job interview tomorrow: it's great that the employer contacted you so quick, that nobody seems to have been scared by the fact that you are blind, and that the place seems to have a friendly environment as far as you can tell. Here's hoping that the accounting program they use will be compatible with your JAWS, and, more importantly, that you will get the job: if you don't, at least that'll be another interview under your belt, something which rarely happens to me, because if I don't admit I'm blind in an application the employers here in France are shocked to find out, and if I do admit to being blind nobody seems to want to interview me. Obviously Australia is a much more advanced place than France when it comes to accessibility and employment for blind people: I don't plan to move to Australia, though.

Thanks heaps Claire! -- yeh, well usually the employers here aren't much better, at least the ones I've come across. But this woman today amazed me with how calm she was. Anyway, thanks again! *hugs*

Good luck with your interivew Rachel! Hope the experience at the interview is as smooth as the one you've had with them on the phone and that lack of accessibilitty won't prevent you from getting this job. Seems like you have a good chance!

Thanks heaps Vanja! I hope so too. Needless to say, I just felt like i've been shot in the foot. Just been on to the help desk at vision Australia and he says Miob is not accessable at all. So if we can come up with alternatives, that would be great! :)
