Q9

I haven't played an audio game in ages, but i should, since I have so many high quality ones! I love audio games, and there's only a couple I've ever mannaged to complete on the easy level.
But through taking a read of a former LJ friends LJ (Lou's to be exact), i stumbled across this great audio game called Q9! -- The demo version enabled us to play the first two levels; I successfully completed the first, not the second yet but I decided I would buy the game to unlock it! The music and the quality of the sounds are just magnificent! -- So I now have three side scrollers in my growing game collection. -- we are just so lucky to have such great quality games being made for us; I've never taken that fact for granted. I think, when it comes to gaming, we are honestly just as well-off as the sighted folk. it is clear that these game programmers believe in blind people having their share of fun, Lol (that sounds cheesy probably but it's true! :)
I'm so glad I was introduced to this game because, it's been ages since I've been to any game sites. And as I say, I haven't even clicked on any of the games on my puter for a while; wow I've now got heaps of them, mostly bought, some freebies.
Now I can't remember how I've tagged my audio games in the past, but I really need to take some time and clean up my tags as some of them were never meant to be created and others are kinda inconsistent.
I've already gone back a number of times to the beginning of my LJ and have tagged entries (since the tagging system wasn't available in 2003), but I still have a bit to go as I've recently added a few more tags; how confusing!
So off i go to play this game again. :)
til next time, RdFreak

For some reason it doesn't want to work on my computer. The intro plays fine, but when it comes to the first main screen to select from the items by using arrow keys, nothing happens. I tried reinstalling it, but no luck.

Did you turn your screen reader off? What I do for all these games is set mine for sleep mode every time they load; that's the only thing I can think of. Good luck! :)

Glad you like Q9

Hi, Rachel! I'm glad that you like Q9: I certainly do! As I told you on Twitter, I haven't played it for ages, and I certainly won't within the next few hours today because I'm listening to the radio as I write this, but I really must settle down to some more Q9 myself pretty soon! I have heaps of other games myself, so of course I can't play all of them all the time, even though I play a lot of them regularly.

ah it's a great game, and I love it, but I'm just terrible; you know what I did? I went searching on google for the cheatcodes, so on this last level, i've been using them; bad bad I know, but I just wanna see how it all works and then I'll try and get through it properly; cos usually I'm not into cheating, Lol!
I'll count all the games I have and let my LJ know soon; very proud of my collection, Lol!
And, i was meant to say in the other comment but forgot, I do wish you the very best of luck with finding employment. ten years is sure a long time to be looking; you're certainly very patient. :)

Thanks for your reply to my comment, Rachel! I must admit that, once I found out about the cheats in Q9, I've often used them: it's the only audio game I cheat at, and if I didn't I don't think I'd do very well. As for my job-hunting, I'm beginning to think that I'll never get work, being over 40 and living in a country where far too many people are scared of employing blind people, but I haven't given up on looking at job offers, just in case something comes up, and I still apply for jobs occasionally if I feel they suit me: the problem is, hardly anybody ever bothers to reply to my applications, which makes me feel even more discouraged than ever. I've done some work experience a couple of times in the last ten years, and I currently do voluntary unpaid secretarial work for a group of churches which the one I go to is a part of, so I do have a little bit of professional experience, even if I've never been paid for it.

Yeh I've never actually cheated on any of the other games; don't have the cheat codes.
re the job thing, networking always helps. ask around at the churches, ask you friends, acquaintences, family friends etc. I've started to do a lot of networking myself. :)
