The final stretch
Dec. 2nd, 2009 07:56 pmWell, I found myself unable to write in here yesterday as the router didn't appear to be working; but now it seems to be, so allow me to fill this LJ in on the past 48 hours or so.
Yesterday morning we went into the city and did a block walk individually around a short block from Latrobe street, then we all went to a CAFE for their coffee fix, (I had a hot chocolate though but later on regretted it; damn the lactose intolerence deal. :( Oh before this, the vet came to check over all the dogs, then she gave us all a talk about the general medical stuff to do with our dogs. But we still mannaged to get back here in time for lunch.
Dean C (who I worked with) came yesterday to do a bit of a refresher with his dog; but he's going home at nights. Also, Angela came yesterday and she's staying til tomorrow; she's got a two-year old black lab named Harley and she's doing extra city work.
Yesterday afternoon we went and did a block walk around Fairfield, and picked up Aaron and Sharon who had gone out for lunch to an art lunchen of Sharon's.
This morning we did another city walk, but this time, we went around Elizabeth streets, Berk streets, Colins Street, into the archade there, into Berk Street Mall and Myres; the dogs were just great! Then, they went for another coffee and I didn't have nofin that time, Lol!
After lunch, GinaMarie and I did some work around Doncaster while Sharon and Conny learnt to bath their dogs; tomorrow afternoon we'll swap around. I bought some chocolates from the shop there; expensive, but nice! Everyone had been picking on me about how bad my withdrawals were getting, Lol!
Jane and Aaron were saying that though Joy can't do escolators, she can do travel-Lators, and A showed me how to get on and off them safely. I have to lift her harness, therefore, her, off them towards the end as to prevent getting her claws caught.
When we got back, we met up with Harley's puppy raiser who had come to visit with Angela while she was down here in Melbourne. We had an extremely interesting conversation with her. Angela had told us yesterday that when she called to thank these people for puppy raising Harley, they'd told her that out of the nine pups she'd raised, she was the only one to have thanked her. So we were talking about that, and then we got on to general subjects surrounding puppy raising and the do's and don'ts.
Though I never heard from Heartly's raisers, I'm told that Joy's are interested in my contacting them if I wished, so when I get their details, I will call them. The instructors wait a couple of months until they give us their details; they don't give them ours.
Anyway, that's about all. Tomorrow will be some more city work in the morning, then GinaMarie and I bath the dogs in the afo, and we all go out to restaurant training for dinner.
I added Sharon to skype (who's on her laptop in this room) and we're text chatting on it, Lol crazy?! haha!
Well Friday we go home. Jun will be taking us (Joy and I) home, then Jane will be working with us next week, and also she will be doing our orientation in the first week in January to my new work place.
Wow, am sick of writing, Lol! will read my friends page and continue text chatting to Sharon who's still in the same room, Lol!
